JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create, write and report compelling daily content and editorial features (such as gift guides, email newsletters, gifting primer articles, polls, quizzes, blogs, etc.) which may include building online communities and other vehicles for sharing ideas and fostering consumer-generated content.

• Develop ongoing content strategy, including key content subject areas, formats, and tie-ins to PR & Marketing efforts
• Create and manage an editorial programming calendar to drive content creation relating to gifting/shopping topics around key seasonal periods
• Experience hiring and managing freelance writers (established network of contacts a big plus).
• Leverage online publishing vehicles to get compelling shopping content to consumers (website, email newsletters, blogs, gift guides, etc)
• Help develop and maintain consistent writing style, or ”voice,” across the site.
• Analyze data to evaluate success of editorial programs to affect content choices.
• Conduct trend, market and related research for assigned stories.
• Experience using a Web publishing tools (CMS, Blogs, etc.) to produce daily stories is required.
• A proven ability to generate timely story ideas for the web.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 6 years work experience, with 4+ years experience editing and writing for online content-based web sites or consumer magazines.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-based, ever-changing environment.
• Appreciation of and experience in the shopping and/or gifting editorial categories.
• Solid knowledge of copyediting and fact checking.
• Strong headline writing skills.
• Willingness to “dig in” and do all work required to create the best gifting content on the web.
• Excellent grammar, spelling and English usage.
• Strong online, library and other research skills
• BA/BS in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Communications or similar preferred
