Daniel Fairclough

I’m always looking for a way to express my creative writing abilities, as well as my opinions on the world around me. Currently, I seem to have fallen into a financial crisis, along with the rest of America, and I’m looking for a job that I can enjoy, and get paid for.

Sean McLachlan

I am an experienced writer and blogger currently seeking new online opportunities.

Before becoming a full-time writer, I worked for ten years as an archaeologist in Israel, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and the U.S. My writing appears in such publications as The Writer, British Heritage, and Ancient Egypt. I am the author of several books on travel and history, including “Byzantium: An Illustrated History” (Hippocrene, 2004), “It Happened in Missouri” (TwoDot, 2007), “Moon Handbooks London” (Avalon, 2007), “Missouri: An Illustrated History” (Hippocrene, 2008), “Outlaw Tales of Missouri” (Globe Pequot, upcoming 2009), and “Guerrilla Tactics of the American Civil War” (Osprey, upcoming 2009) I also coauthored, with Mary Paganelli, two editions of “The Insiders’ Guide To Phoenix” (Globe Pequot 2002, 2004).

My blogging experience includes being the Madrid Local Expert for PlanetEye, at http://www.planeteye.com/LocalGuide/0-0/Madrid+Spain+5396.aspx

I also run two personal blogs, one on travel at grizzledoldtraveler.blogspot.com and another on the writing life at midlistwriter.blogspot.com

My writing strengths include my three passions: travel, history, and books. I also have experience writing about current events, parenting, culture, science, and political commentary. I divide my time between Spain, England, and Missouri and travel extensively.

(RE)active attainment:
_________________________

my very existence is made up of movement

no measure/ no mass/ no concept of solid

not even a membrane to ensure that it’ll last

but somehow ever aware of it’s stance

fluctuating to the will of external circumstance

—-

a spectrum of neon-vibrant in color but opague in nature

is the cylander box for which i house this emotion

we cradle and cling to the strings of my transparent reflection

embedded in layers of active reception

i allow this moment to scan what’s expired

reliving every dimension of my own retention

i reach out and grasp for the loose photographs of moods and subjection

that manage to accurately determine recreation

i want to do the wise thing and transcend this would be stagnation

so i fight the tide and deny natural direction

shunning my will I demolish my very nature

and slip into depths of desperate determination

i must refuse the temptation of romantic reflection and honest exageration

i must dismantal and construct the circumstance that divides my reflection indulging in the process of (acceptable/debatable) denial

i ask myself who or what im running from? (you).

a heavy prescence that i experience with no recognition

my desire twists and stalls my progress

paralyzation

located at my adolescent resistance

(once again) uncertain of “love”

and the tentative peaks

that define the paradox in between
