I am an expatriate American writer currently living in Scotland. I write on a broad range of subjects, including, but not restricted to, World War Two, health, languages and language learning (especially Japanese and English), child rearing, and gardening.
My creative non-fiction has been published in Eclectica, Glassfire, and MotherVerse Magazine, and my poetry has been published in Flashquake. In 2006, I won first prize in the Killie Writing Competition, based in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and the United Kingdom Noise Association’s Short Story Competition. I have also placed in the Wells Festival of Literature Short Story Competition of 2006 and the Wells Poetry Competition of 2007. I won an honorable mention in the Iris Chang Memorial Essay Competition, and my novel Foreigners placed in the Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook Novel Writing Competition.
