Robert Maguire

My name is Robert Maguire. I’m an experienced blogger and journalist. I’ve been writing, both online and as a freelance journalist, for several years now. Having built up an index of over three hundred articles, I’d like to pursue a continuation in a more professional capacity to help fund my Mandarin studies here in Taiwan, where I’m currently living.

My interests are very broad, as you can see in my resume (http://robertmaguire-jr.emurse.com/), but they can all be summed up as an intense interest in all aspects of globalization: international relations, the “flat world,” languages, economics, Hello Kitty, etc.

If there’s one thing I’ve picked up in my studies and travels, it’s that I’ve got a lot left to learn. It’s for this, I believe, that most people who read my writing feel comfortable writing to me, leaving comments, etc. This instant feedback is why I love blogging and hope to be able to continue it in a more official stature.

Kate is a freelance writer from Baltimore, MD. With an eclectic background in art history and marketing and an intense passion for all things culinary, Kate frequently finds herself writing about art, culture, and food. She develops recipes for her blog, the Dinner Diaries, and contributes recipes and restaurant reviews to several popular websites.
