Wanted: Fashion Blog Editor

We got this email from the Shiny Media blog network:

Shiny Media is looking for a fashion editor for its flagship fashion blog, Catwalk Queen (www.catwalkqueen.tv) which gets over 300,000 unique users a month. Applicants must have previous experience of editing an online magazine and an in-depth knowledge of the world of fashion. Experience using Movable Type, Photoshop, Adobe Premier Elements (or other photo and video editing software), and a bulging address book filled with fashion contacts (both PRs and other online fashion editors) are essential. You’ll need a firm understanding of how to work with online communities, including social networking sites and social bookmarking sites and you’ll be expected to keep up to date with all developments in Web 2.0 technologies.

We’re looking for someone experienced at managing writers, commissioning pieces and writing fast, funny copy for a fast-paced fashion blog. You’ll also need to be comfortable in front of a camera and have an understanding of how to edit videos and upload content to a variety of sites. You’ll be working from our central London offices in Covent Garden, with a group of young, talented bloggers and writers for one of the fastest growing and exciting online publishing companies in the UK.

Applicants should be educated to degree level. A journalism qualification is highly desirable.

Please send your CV to Gemma Cartwright at gemma@shinymedia.com along with a
covering letter telling us more about yourself, along with your blog address (if you have one) and some samples of your work.

The closing date for all applications is 5pm on 31st March 2008.
