Associate Editor

TechTarget is seeking an Associate Site Editor for the Windows Media Group. This is a multi-faceted job that involves maintaining and updating the content of SearchWinComputing.com, one of five Web sites designed for administrators using Microsoft platforms and applications.

Essential Job Functions:

· Writing, reporting and editing (journalism training preferred);
· Excellent knowledge of how to use the Web to find information;
· Newsletter creation, preparation and transmission;
· Podcasting, webcasting and/or blog management
· Regular interaction with industry experts in the field who support our effort; and,
· Interaction with our site members (i.e., systems administrators and Windows users) on an ongoing basis;
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
· We are looking for people who display intellectual curiosity, innovation, high standards, adherence to deadlines, a competitive nature, and the ability to work in a flexible, changing environment;
· Minimum of two years’ writing and/or editing background, preferably in newspaper, magazine or Web journalism;
· Strong writing, editing and verbal skills;
· Basic knowledge of HTML preferred
· Strong computer/Web skills,
· Experience with interviewing technologists;
· Ability to juggle many tasks simultaneously;
· Strong organizational skills;
· Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or other relevant course of study;
· Basic understanding of information technology concepts; and
· A willingness and ability to learn more about computers and corporate computing.
