A call for “passionate” bloggers

Care2, Inc. recently put out a very, shall we say, peculiar ad. The company is looking for what it calls “passionate” bloggers to write for millions of “passionate” readers with their blogs. With such a frequent use of the word “passionate” I was beginning to think it may be included in the blog or company’s name in some way. But it just looks like the people at Care2 are just really, erm, passionate about finding the right people.

Care2 says it is the largest and most trusted online community that empowers people to get into a healthier lifestyle and also being more cause-oriented. The bloggers Care2 is looking for will write for the following categories:

* Animal Welfare
* Civil Rights
* Environment & Wildlife
* Global Warming
* Health Policy
* Human Rights
* Politics
* Women’s Rights

The applicants should be knowledgeable, insightful, and passionate (there it is again!) about the said categories. They should have impeccable writing skills and be familiar with WordPress and other content management tools. There is a 300 word minimum for each published content. compensation is on a per post basis with bonuses for high traffic and comment posts.

A very nice benefit for Care2 bloggers is that they will be allowed to repost what they’ve written on their personal blogs 30 days after publication. There should be a link to the original post though and the proper attributions must be done.

  1. I wrote for Care2 late in ‘08. The site is nice and many wonderful people use it’s social media functions. Sadly, the company never paid me for the writing I did for them.

  6. Hello there Care2 Inc,

    This sounds like a wonderful opportunity for a writer who is as, shall I say, passionate, as myself. I would absolutely love to be conisidered for this position.

    How might I go about applying?

    Thanks!

  7. Although I am not a journalism or political science major, I am extremely interested in applying for this position. I have been scourging the net for days trying to locate a blogging job that would not require me to write about superficial topics or the promotion of products I don’t believe in. I am currently an unemployed blogger who is blogging about important issues for no money. Blogging, for me, is more of a fun way to share ideas. As I am currently a senior economics student, I will be looking for work very soon. If you are interested in viewing some of my work, feel free to visit my blog at http://seek2ruth.blogspot.com. I dedicated that blog as my pet project dedicated to the search for knowledge and the progression of mankind. Working for Care2 would be a dream job. I have never written an application for a blogging job as none have interested me until now. Where would I apply for a position at Care2?.

  8. Care2 is very unorganized in their hiring process. They hired me last year, but couldn’t reveal payrate or send paperwork and seemed to have problems keeping their own staff up to date on who was hired when.

    I’m not saying they’re a bad place to work for…but just warning anyone interested that they may end up very frustrated.

  9. Dear Care2 Inc,

    The opportunity to add my passion to paper would be a dream. I can combine two of my favorite things, writing and voicing my passion for issues.

    How do you apply?

    Sincere Thanks,

  13. Dear Mr/Mrs,

    Surfing and searching the internet I stumbled upon your great website. I also noticed you provide your visitors with links to visitworthy environmental websites.

    On the 22 of July (2009) we launched our new green hub Climatarians (http://climatarians.org). There is A LOT to do on our website:
    - users can create their own blog
    - users can discuss at our forum or in their group
    - users can write articles at our wiki
    - users can login with their Facebook (www.facebook.com) account and invite friends
    - organizations can submit themselves to our directory (oops!… businesses have to pay)
    - users can submit or search events
    - users can submit or search job openings

    We belief that -at least- some of your visitors find our website visitworthy and we hope you want to mention it in an article or grant us a link to our website.

    If you would like to receive more information about me or Climatarians please don’t hesitate to contact me.

    Thank you for your time and attention.

    Best regards,

    Joost Hoogstrate, founder
